General cathedral visiting is free. The Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Museum is a separate paid choice alongside it, worthwhile if medieval ideas and books are a particular interest.

Tickets and booking: The cathedral itself is free to visit, with donations welcome. Mappa Mundi and Chained Library admission, tours and events are separate; the museum is normally closed Sundays and has current date-specific changes.
Access and getting around: The cathedral publishes an access map, sensory resources and detailed guidance; the Mappa Mundi museum has wheelchair access and seating. Check the route you want rather than assuming tower, crypt and general cathedral visiting all have the same access.
