Check the calendar carefully: regular visits are on Tuesdays, with selected Sunday operating days. An open Tuesday does not promise that all engines are running, and even operating days depend on maintenance.

Tickets and booking: Adult admission differs between ordinary Tuesdays and selected operating Sundays. Check the actual date and current admission terms; not all exhibits or miniature-railway sessions are guaranteed to operate.
Access and getting around: The Victorian site has uneven floors and outside surfaces, with higher ground in part of the grounds. Consult the museum’s access guides and speak to volunteers about the route; a loan wheelchair may be available.

Visiting with children: The heritage water park uses interactive devices rather than being a swimming or splash-pool attraction. Supervise children around equipment and choose an operating day only if its noise and activity will suit them.
