Explore a timber-framed house restored as a home by the Gayer-Anderson brothers, whose collections give the rooms an individual character. The small scale invites close looking at the building as well as the furnishings. Leave time for the walled garden when the weather suits.
Visit after lunch: the current 2026 season runs in the afternoons until 1 November. There are no refreshments inside, so eat first or plan a café afterwards.

- The operator currently lists ordinary 1–4pm opening through 1 November 2026, with exceptions for events. Adult admission is paid; check concessions and the car-free discount. Groups need advance arrangements. Do not use a group winter booking as evidence of ordinary winter opening.
- Access and getting around
- Expect uneven floors, changes of level, low beams and narrow stairs. Wheelchair access is difficult and limited access may be possible for small or folding chairs by discussion. A downstairs screen can show some upstairs areas; contact the museum about your needs.
