Minster Pool Walk
Take the landscaped south-side path between Dam Street and Bird Street for views across the water towards the cathedral. Benches and a small memorial garden make this an easy pause between the Close and the shops. It is a short connecting walk, not a long lakeside circuit.
Use the path as a gentle link between sights, with time to sit if you want. A continuous route right around the water is not the same as this public south-side walk.

- The public walk is free and open every day throughout the year, subject to local restrictions. Fishing is not permitted. Food, parking and nearby attractions are separate costs. Use daylight for an unhurried visit and shorten the stop in heavy rain or icy conditions.
- Access and getting around
- The council describes a level, step-free main path with one short narrower section. Dam Street and Bird Street entrances have slight slopes; seating is spaced along the walk. The nearby accessible toilet at Bird Street car park requires a RADAR key. Check current surface and gate conditions for your visit.

- Keep children beside you near open water and use Beacon Park for active play. This is a place to look at reflections, birds and the cathedral, without climbing barriers or entering the pool.
