North Shore promenade

The sweep between Llandudno’s headlands is best appreciated at walking pace. Follow a short section of the promenade, look at the curved line of Victorian hotel fronts and find a place to pause above the beach. This is the easiest way to understand the resort’s setting without turning the day into a demanding headland hike.

Before you go

North Shore is mainly shingle at high tide, with sand exposed lower down. Plan a promenade visit rather than promising children a broad sandy beach at every tide.

Tickets and booking: No ticket for a public promenade walk. Parking, meals and beach activities are separate costs; check local seasonal restrictions.
Access and getting around: Visit Conwy describes the promenade as level, with multiple crossing points. Access down to the beach differs from the promenade; check the route, crossings and any works for your needs.

Visiting with children: Keep a short return route and watch shared pedestrian/cycle areas. Beach play depends on tide and conditions; check local signs rather than relying on a photograph.
