Great Orme Tramway

The tram ride makes the climb part of the outing, rising from narrow town streets towards open headland. Change cars at Halfway and look at how the cable system works before continuing towards the summit. Allow time above the town to enjoy the landscape, without assuming that a long summit walk must follow the journey.

Before you go

Tickets cannot be booked ahead. Check service and return arrangements on arrival; folded mobility aids do not remove the need to climb the tram’s steep boarding steps.

Tickets and booking: Seasonal service normally runs March to early November; confirm exact dates. Buy tickets on arrival and confirm the last return before exploring. This is a separate service from the seasonal, weather-dependent cable car.
Access and getting around: Boarding involves three steep steps and a change of tram at Halfway. Only folding non-powered wheelchairs can be carried; powered chairs and scooters are not accepted. Discuss assistance and your ability to transfer with staff.

Visiting with children: Small folding prams can be carried subject to space. Children must be taken out for the journey. Dress for exposed conditions and leave extra time for queues.
