West Shore

Across town from the pier, the outlook changes to the Conwy estuary and the mountains beyond. A short promenade and views over sand exposed by the tide give West Shore a different pace from North Shore. Choose it for a deliberate coastal pause, perhaps after the museum, rather than treating both beaches as interchangeable.

Before you go

Use the promenade for a simple out-and-back. Check tides and local safety signs before going onto the sands; the wide low-tide view is not a promise of safe swimming.

Tickets and booking: Public shore access is free. Transport, parking, refreshments and optional seasonal activities cost separately. A sunset depends on weather and your return arrangements.
Access and getting around: Promenade and beach are different surfaces. Check access points and facilities locally if you need a step-free route; do not assume sand, dunes or onward coastal paths are accessible.

Visiting with children: Space for a short coastal break when conditions suit. Keep children close by water and avoid allowing a walk across exposed sand to outrun the tide.
