LONDON GUIDE Independent ideas for your day out

Parks & gardens / LONDON

Kensington Gardens

Spend time among avenues, lawns and monuments west of Hyde Park. The Albert Memorial end makes a manageable outdoor finish after a South Kensington museum; the Italian Gardens and Peter Pan statue belong to a longer wander, not an obligatory circuit.

Before you go

Pick the part of the park you actually want to reach. The Diana Memorial Playground is farther from the museum end, and has separate notices and restrictions; a museum-and-playground day needs its own route.
