Tickets and booking: Pre-book a free general admission ticket. Check separate experience charges and reserve anything essential to your day before promising it to children.
Access and getting around: Check current works and the sensory map. On 14 September 2026 the museum reports no step-free access to the Making the Modern World and Flight mezzanines, and its Changing Places toilet is unavailable 14–25 September.

Visiting with children: Ear defenders and quiet spaces are described in the access guide. Choose exhibits for your children’s interests and check individual activity age advice, tickets and session times rather than assuming all interactives suit everyone.
