Before you go
The visitor centre and the free reserve walks are different visits. Walks start from other access points; do not expect a continuous accessible waterside circuit from the building.

Directions and arrival information - Tickets and booking
- Adults normally pay; children and Scottish Wildlife Trust members have free entry. Opening is daily from mid-February to October, with reduced days in winter. Special dawn or dusk events need separate confirmation; ordinary opening does not cover all wildlife times.
- Access and getting around
- The visitor centre has level entry, accessible parking and accessible toilets. Reserve paths and hides have different surfaces and access limitations. Confirm any mobility-equipment or particular viewing requirements before travel.
Official access information - Visiting with children
- Choose a manageable period of birdwatching with time for children’s activities if available. Wildlife moves freely and seasonal spectacles are not guaranteed. A telescope view can be a better introduction than a long, muddy walk.
