River Tweed and Hay Lodge Park
Use the river and Hay Lodge Park for a flexible outdoor break close to Peebles. You can choose a short stroll, a pause in the park or a longer signed route towards the wooded valley. The setting works particularly well when the rest of the day has a fixed booking and you want something easy to shorten.
Before you go
A short park visit and a longer Neidpath-area circuit are not the same outing. Longer routes can include steps, muddy ground and more distance than a casual riverside pause.

- Ordinary park and walking access is free. Parking, food and special events may cost extra. The council lists public toilets at Hay Lodge Park, but check current access rather than relying on facilities at any hour.
- Access and getting around
- Assess the actual path surface and gradients before choosing a route. Some longer circuits include steps or awkward sections. Avoid flooded river paths and follow temporary closures; no claim is made that every riverside route is step-free.
