A steeper heritage walk above the town / PONTYPRIDD
Choose the Common when you want a walk with a different pace from the shops and park below. The Rocking Stone and surrounding Gorsedd setting connect the open ground with Welsh cultural gatherings. Follow the official short heritage route and enjoy the space without treating it as a flat extension of the town trail.

The circle around the glacial boulder relates to later bardic ceremonies, not a prehistoric stone circle. Wear shoes suited to slopes and return before poor light or worsening weather.
