Use the museum to understand the town before a short bridge stop and food.
A short route through the town’s story / PONTYPRIDD
Use the official town trail to connect the Old Bridge, streets and park with stories from the museum. You can enjoy the bridge as a short stop or follow the longer route with its heritage commentary. Treat the walk as a way to understand the town, with refreshments and indoor visits chosen separately rather than crammed into its walking time.

The full official route is about 3.2km from the museum to the market. A bridge stop is a much shorter alternative, and viewing it does not require crossing its steep historic span.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 30 minutes for the bridge; 1–1½ hours for the trail for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
