The shorter version keeps the cathedral area and one museum, with no excursion to Fishbourne. For a Roman-history day, make Fishbourne the principal visit and use central Chichester as a modest second stop instead.
Families interested in wildlife may prefer WWT Arundel as the day’s main activity, rather than adding it after several historic interiors. Chichester suits a group looking for indoor variety and accessible breaks between venues. Couples can choose art and a performance in the city, or a slower Arundel town visit. Check the precise access route for the chosen venue; an attractive historic street can still be steep or uneven.
Chichester’s public parks and cathedral surroundings offer a gentle lower-cost route, while Arundel’s town and quayside can be enjoyed without entering the castle. Confirm the current arrangements for any free-entry museum or church. In persistent rain, a gallery or museum is more reliable than gardens or a wetland outing, which still involves outdoor paths even where shelter is available.
Allow for the approach from Arundel station to the town and for the climb if your venue is uphill. In Chichester, distinguish the central venues from Fishbourne and out-of-town attractions. For a two-stop day, check the full journey rather than just the distance on a county map. Leave lunch or the last walk flexible so a delayed connection does not put a paid booking at risk.
