The Green Howards Museum
Follow the experiences of soldiers through uniforms, personal objects and medals in the former Trinity Church at the centre of the Market Place. The displays connect Richmond’s military heritage with individual lives and wider conflicts. This is a focused regimental collection, distinct from the town-and-Dales stories at Richmondshire Museum.
Allow time for a few personal stories rather than trying to absorb every medal label. Check whether the Normanby Room is in use for an event before planning around that room.

- Normally Monday–Saturday 10am–4.30pm, last entry 4pm, with Sundays closed. Tickets can be bought online or on arrival and include special exhibitions and return visits for twelve months under the museum’s terms. The Normanby Room sometimes closes for events; check the visit page for exceptions.
- Access and getting around
- A small ramp and automatic door provide entrance access; platform and standard lifts connect the museum levels. There is an adapted ground-floor toilet and baby changing. Large-print information and subtitled screens are available, but there is no hearing assistance system.

- Hands-on educational tools help children engage, but the subject includes war and loss. Choose displays to suit their age and interests. Under-tens have free admission; older children and accompanying adults need the appropriate tickets.
