- Adult admission is paid; current concessions include free entry for children up to 16 and accompanying carers. Check opening and ticket details before travel. Winter hours shorten, there is a Christmas-to-New-Year closure period, and extreme weather can close the garden.
- Access and getting around
- A 1.2-kilometre accessible loop uses mostly flat metalled and grass paths. Other areas, including parts around the ponds, have steeper ground or steps. The visitor centre has a ramp and an accessible toilet; a loan wheelchair should be booked ahead. Benches and shelters provide pauses.

- Children aged 16 and under enter free under the current admission policy. Leave time for looking closely at plants and wildlife rather than completing every path. Supervise children near water and check which seasonal activities are running. Working assistance dogs are allowed; ordinary pets are not.
