St Andrews Museum

Kinburn House gives the town’s own stories room to breathe, away from the busier seafront. The permanent St Andrews A–Z exhibition introduces local history, while temporary exhibitions add a changing reason to visit. The Victorian mansion sits in Kinburn Park, so a short outdoor pause can follow the galleries. This OnFife museum is distinct from the university’s Wardlaw Museum.

Tickets and booking: Ordinary museum admission is free. The current usual hours are Monday–Saturday, 10.30am–4pm; check holiday arrangements and temporary exhibitions. Workshops and café purchases may have separate charges or bookings.
Access and getting around: The main entrance has steps; use the side ramp and call point for accessible entry. A lift serves the upper floor, where the accessible toilet is located. Limited Blue Badge parking, a loan wheelchair and sensory support are listed; contact the museum about your intended visit.

Visiting with children: Choose a few objects from the A–Z exhibition, then take a break in the park when the weather allows. Ask about current family activities. The café is an optional extra, with its own operation; bringing a food plan avoids depending on it being available.
