Stratford Recreation Ground
Across the Avon from the theatre, the Recreation Ground gives a busy sightseeing day space to breathe. Use the lawns for a picnic, the play area for younger visitors or a short riverside stroll for a change of pace. A visit can be as simple as half an hour outside.
Treat water play as an optional seasonal extra. The council’s paddling-pool season ends on 30 September and operation also depends on weather and maintenance; the lawns and play area are the more flexible plan.

- The council describes inclusive play equipment and an accessible sensory play area. That is not a guarantee that every path, surface or piece of equipment suits every visitor; check the route and facilities for your needs.

- The council describes the refurbished main play area as aimed at ages 1–11. Keep children supervised near the river and pool. Public toilets are listed by the play-area entrance.
