Seeing a performance puts Shakespeare’s work back on a stage, while an RSC theatre tour focuses on the people and spaces that make productions possible. Choose the experience you want and book it deliberately. Entering the public building is different from admission to a show or guided tour.
From 14–25 September 2026, Swan Gardens access and the through-path beside the theatres are restricted for grass reinstatement. Approach on Waterside and follow current signs rather than relying on a riverside shortcut.

- Book a specific performance or tour. Standard Theatre Tours include an auditorium, but backstage access is not guaranteed; check the exact venue, date, route and finish time.
- Access and getting around
- The RSC provides lifts and wheelchair seating, with assisted performances on selected dates. The standard Theatre Tour is wheelchair-accessible; specialised backstage and workshop tours have different restrictions. Confirm the exact product and seat with the box office.

- Match the production’s age guidance and running time to the child. A theatre tour is a separate choice; do not substitute a workshop tour, which has different age and mobility requirements.
