Dylan Thomas Centre

You do not need to arrive knowing Dylan Thomas’s poems. The Love the Words exhibition uses recordings, objects and an interactive timeline to introduce his writing and the world around it. Listening is part of the visit: give a voice or a passage time to settle before moving on. The centre is in the maritime quarter, separate from the poet’s birthplace in Uplands.

Check the weekday before planning around it: the centre currently opens Wednesday–Sunday. The family Learning Space has its own availability and may be in use for organised workshops.

Tickets and booking: The permanent exhibition is free and currently opens Wednesday–Sunday. Contact staff for group visits, talks or workshops. Special events and the Learning Space have separate arrangements.

Confirm current step-free arrival and facilities with staff if these determine your visit; the detailed access description is older than the current exhibition calendar.

Visiting with children: A children’s trail offers an animal-themed way into the writing. The Learning Space can provide word games, sensory materials and creative activities when available; check its calendar rather than promising it as an everyday playroom.
