Whitby Lifeboat Museum
The former Pier Road boathouse puts Whitby’s rescue history close to the water it served. A historic pulling lifeboat, the Robert and Ellen Robson, anchors a compact collection of crew equipment and rescue stories. This is a meaningful short stop before lunch or the beach, rather than an attraction that needs most of a day.
Go to the historic museum on Pier Road, not the operational lifeboat station farther along the harbour. Check seasonal opening before making it the only indoor stop in your plan.
