Pannett Park

A landscaped pause above the busy harbour, Pannett Park combines garden paths, seating and a play area with the museum and art gallery. Come here for time outdoors without committing to the headland or the sand. A short garden circuit is worthwhile on its own, while children can make the play area the main event.

There are steep sections. Download the park’s route avoiding steps and steep gradients, and approach from the appropriate gate rather than automatically taking the shortest uphill path from town.

Tickets and booking: No admission ticket is needed. The park is a daytime visit; check posted gate information, with museum and gallery access governed by their own opening times.
Access and getting around: The park publishes a route around the museum and upper gardens that avoids steep gradients and steps. Other paths are sloped. Check the route map for your entrance and return, not just the circuit itself.

Visiting with children: Play equipment and garden trails offer a change from indoor collections. Bikes, scooters and skateboards are not permitted; only assistance dogs are allowed. Plan toilets using current visitor information.
