Modern British art / CHICHESTER
Pallant House Gallery
Spend time with a selection of modern British art in a historic house and contemporary gallery spaces. The building makes room for close looking rather than a quick corridor of famous names. Choose one exhibition or a small group of works to begin with, and leave space for a café break before deciding how much more to see.

Check both the exhibition list and the dedicated opening-times page. Ordinary Mondays are closed; a bank-holiday opening should not be assumed for every Monday.
The practical details
- Where to find it
- 8–9 North Pallant, Chichester PO19 1TJ
Directions and arrival information ↗ - Tickets and booking
- Main exhibitions and displays require paid adult admission, with concessions and proof requirements. The ground floor and Print Room exhibition are free, but this does not cover the whole gallery. Buy online or at reception, and allow enough time before last entry. Check dates for temporary exhibitions and workshops.
- Access and getting around
- The contemporary entrance has street-level automatic doors, with a lift to all gallery levels. Two accessible toilets are on the ground floor, one with baby changing. Portable stools and bookable wheelchairs are available; some works require lower gallery lighting.
Official access information ↗ - Visiting with children
- Under-18s enter free. Choose a short visual task such as comparing colours or finding an unexpected material, and check any family session separately rather than expecting a workshop during every visit. Leave a break before another indoor attraction.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
