Their schedules are not interchangeable. Check both before making a two-building plan, and allow for an outdoor transfer between them rather than imagining a single connected indoor complex. The museum’s local objects and stories suit a focused visit, while the Town Hall adds paintings and maritime displays when open. Admission is free, so you can spend the time that suits your interest rather than feeling obliged to fill a day. For archive or family-history help, contact staff in advance. General gallery access does not mean research assistance is always available. Queens Quay’s leisure centre offers a more active indoor alternative. Reserve or confirm the actual public swimming session and check the current family rules. Different pools have separate opening times, with wave sessions currently restricted to the weekend timetable. Ask about changing and pool-entry arrangements if you need assistance, and bring suitable kit instead of relying on equipment being available to borrow. The park and canal do not supply a reliable sheltered alternative. Their routes can still be enjoyable in suitable conditions, but wet paths, open water and travel between areas may make them less useful on a persistent-rain day. A shorter plan concentrates on the cultural venue that is open, or on the swim you have arranged. Leave time for a warm meal and onward transport, especially if your visit falls on a day when one of the cultural buildings is closed.

Discover Clydebank’s local story at the museum in the basement of Clydebank Library on Dumbarton Road. If opening allows, continue separately to the Town Hall galleries on Hall Street for art, maritime pictures, ship models and examples from the Singer collection. These are two addresses with different schedules, combined here as a useful cultural visit rather than described as one building.
Choose a suitable public swimming session at the leisure centre on Queens Quay. Competition, teaching and wave pools have different schedules, so decide which experience you want before arriving. A swim can complement a local museum visit or provide an active indoor purpose of its own, with enough time allowed for changing and travel between venues.
