Norman arches close to the city streets / COLCHESTER
Pause among the ruined church arches and look at the reused Roman brick in the Norman structure. This is a small, open-air historic site where a little close looking can be more rewarding than a long circuit. It pairs naturally with a city-centre day without becoming another museum-length visit.

The ruins have uneven surfaces and no facilities. Keep to accessible routes, follow barriers and do not climb the masonry.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 25–45 minutes for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
