A Clyde viewpoint and an evening performance →
A weather-dependent hill visit and a booked show, with transport and a meal planned between.
A hilltop view over the Clyde / GREENOCK
Visit the viewpoint and Free French memorial for a wider view of the Clyde and the surrounding hills. The climb gives this stop a different character from the level waterfront: the approach can be steep, and views depend on conditions. Treat the memorial respectfully and leave enough time to return before weather or daylight deteriorates.

The promoted walk from the Esplanade is about four miles with roughly 110 metres of ascent; it is not a short flat extension.
Practical information checked 15 September 2026. Confirm anything essential to your visit with the venue.
Allow 30–60 minutes at the viewpoint; around 2 hours for the promoted walking loop for the visit, plus travel and breaks. This is a suggested planning allowance; opening times, access and availability may affect your plans.
