Take a slow look through the planned town and along the waterfront, with the white buildings and changing Loch Fyne views as the main interest. This is the space between bigger visits: a place to notice architecture, choose food and decide whether the weather invites a longer pause. Browsing does not require a shopping itinerary.
Before you go
The stone pier is open, but its timber hammerhead remains closed and unsafe. Stay within the permitted area; a waterfront visit does not imply access to every section of the pier or to moored vessels.

- Ordinary town and waterfront walking is free. Parking, toilets, refreshments and shopping are additional costs. Markets and other events take place on specific dates rather than every day; check the current pier notice.
- Access and getting around
- Town pavements, crossings and waterfront edges have different surfaces and widths. Use a route that suits your mobility and take care around traffic and the water. Public toilets near the pier have an entry charge; check the facilities you need.

- Keep children close beside the loch and around road crossings. A short waterfront look with food can balance an indoor visit, but the pier is not a playground and the closed timber section should never be entered.
