- Access and getting around
- The entrance and main ground-floor area are level, with a small incline to another ground-floor gallery. A stairlift serves Natural History, but not all other galleries. Ask the custodian about the Captain’s Parlour route and individual requirements.

- Children can choose a maritime or natural-history theme to follow. Under-sixteens currently enter free, but adult admission is paid and the building’s access needs still matter.
