The Meadows is a practical starting point for a free Callander outing. Its riverside route is close to the town’s services and can be shortened easily, which helps if you are fitting the visit around a bus or changeable weather. The surfaced circuit offers a different experience from a hill walk: time beside the Teith, a pause in the meadow and views towards the surrounding landscape when clear. Check river conditions before settling on that plan. The ground serves as a floodplain, and high water or temporary notices can change access. A compact free visit can remain entirely with the Meadows; an energetic outing can focus on the falls instead.
