Spend another 45 minutes on a chosen park circuit before returning. These are editorial allowances; the urban transfer has crossings and slopes and is not a verified step-free route. A tram journey can reduce walking but adds a fare. The shorter alternative is art and a drink, particularly in rain. Check gallery exhibition dates and its usual Monday closure before travelling, and use toilets before leaving for the park because the council currently lists none there. Bring food if it helps your budget, while checking current park notices and gate times. Free general entry excludes refreshments, travel and individually ticketed events. Tree collections, planted borders and historic park features offer a green pause north of the shopping centre. Follow part of the council’s tree or heritage trail, or simply choose a short circuit and a bench. This is a useful free outdoor destination in its own right, with enough variety for a slow walk without committing to a large country park.
